What this policy covers
This policy describes what happens to information collected through benchmarkconsulting.com. Work carried out under a client engagement is governed by the agreement signed for that engagement rather than by this page. Where the two differ, the agreement governs.
What this website collects
Almost nothing. There are no accounts, no contact forms, no newsletter, and no advertising or analytics trackers. We set no cookies for tracking, and nothing you do here is used to build a profile of you.
Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs: IP address, browser and operating system, the pages requested and the time of the request. These exist for security and diagnostics, are retained for a limited period by the host, and are not used to identify individual visitors.
If you contact us
We publish an email address rather than a form. If you write to us, we keep what you send for as long as it takes to answer you and to hold a record of the conversation. We will not add you to a mailing list, and we do not sell, rent or share contact details.
Client source code and engagement data
This is the part that matters most to our clients, so we will be specific about it.
Where an engagement runs inside your environment, your source code never reaches us. We work over VPN on infrastructure you control, and the model we build stays where it was built.
Where an engagement runs in our hosted environment, you send us the source for the systems in scope. That material is used only to perform the work you engaged us for. It is not shared with third parties, it is not used to train anything, and it is not retained beyond the engagement except where your agreement says otherwise. Handling, retention and deletion are set out in that agreement, and we would encourage you to read those clauses rather than take this page's word for it.
Third parties
The site is served by our hosting provider, which processes server logs as described above. We embed no third-party advertising, social media trackers or analytics scripts.

Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. Write to us and we will respond.
Changes
